Street bikes use a full DC electrical system almost exclusively. The charging system is made up of a stator,
regulator/rectifier, and battery.
Motorcycles with batteries must convert the AC power from the stator into DC. In order to do this, the power
coming from the stator must be converted by a regulator/rectifier. The rectifier actually converts the power
from AC to DC, while the regulator keeps the power level (voltage) from going above the 13.8 -14.5 volts
needed to power a standard 12 volt battery. It is important that the stator provides more power than needed
by the motorcycle so that the battery will stay charged. If the motorcycle uses more power than the stator
can provide, the battery will start to drain. This will typically happen if the voltage drops below 13 volts.
RECTIFIER/REGULATOR
ElectroSport regulator/rectifiers are designed to be direct replacements
to original equipment by using stock mounting locations and OEM style
connectors. These parts are designed to handle higher power loads
than their OEM counterparts and are recommended when upgrading a stator to a high-powered alternative.
Our regulator/rectifiers are a cost effective solution to a blown OEM part and are engineered to prevent these
problems from arising again.
PLUG-IN STATOR
We strive to build stators that last and exceed our customers' expectations. We often include upgraded
features on our performance stators. Changing winding specifications, wire size, and the number of poles that
the magnet wire is wrapped around are only a few of the tricks up our sleeve for bringing the most advanced
power generation to motorsports. Almost all of our stators provide a substantial power gain within the engine
rpm ranges that it is needed most.
3-PHASE HEAVY DUTY STATOR
This heavy duty stator can be used as a higher output replacement for the OE stator. Output is about 20% more than the OE stator provides.
This new stator is built with the highest grade lamination materials and the copper windings are triple insulated for maximum reliability. To ease
installation we supply it with new connectors and wire sleeving. It is a very cost-effective replacement unit for when the OE stator failed, and it
comes with a full one year warranty.
POWERJET FUEL CONTROLLER
The PowerJet is a simple yet complicated device. It measures the outside air temperature very close
to where the stock sensor is located, and adjusts the signal from the OEM air temperature sensor
to the ECU to make use of the built in Air Temperature Correction factor that is built into every stock
ECU.
What this accomplishes is that the ECU is told that the intake air is a little cooler than it is, and the
ECU will respond by injecting a fraction more fuel depending on the PowerJet setting. The rider will
notice a substantially improved engine response when you twist the throttle. The neat thing is that
when under constant load (constant speed) the oxygen sensor in the exhaust will make the ECU cor-
rect the fuel/air ratio back to stock! However, as soon as the system notices an increase in power it
switches from closed loop (oxygen sensor feedback) back to open loop (no feedback) and will correct
the fuel/air ratio by the amount you selected on the PowerJet. It can be easily installed by plugging
it in between the stock AIT sensor which is usually located somewhere on the airbox and the bike’s
wiring harness. Each PowerJet comes with the exact plug in connectors and installation will normally only take a few minutes. Finding the air
temperature sensor usually takes more time than plugging in the PowerJet.
